About
This is an independent, community-minded index of publicly posted film-permit contacts and rules. It started with New England, where the information is spread across six different state sites in different formats, and now also covers Arizona (7 states so far). More states are added one at a time from official sources; a state that is not listed has not been researched yet.
What it is not
- Not the only or the most complete directory. Official state film offices, town websites and other tools such as state location libraries are the authority.
- Not a permit service, location marketplace, agency or legal adviser. We do not collect, rate or publish private property listings.
Where the data comes from
- Massachusetts town/city contacts: https://mafilm.org/towns-a-z/ and https://mafilm.org/towns-m-z/ (Massachusetts Film Office).
- Connecticut municipal contacts and rules: https://portal.ct.gov/decd/content/film-tv-digital-media/01_producing_in_connecticut/04-permits.
- Arizona local film offices, Film Ready Communities and film resource coordinators: https://www.azcommerce.com/film-media/film-offices/ (Arizona Commerce Authority). We republish names, titles and phone numbers as listed; email addresses are left on the official page.
- Other state facts: the pages linked on the state rules page.
Every entry shows its source and the date we last checked it (2026-10-17). Contacts are copied as published by government offices; individual names appear only because the state page lists them for this purpose. Volunteer film commission contacts are not republished here; see the source page.
Corrections and removal requests
We work to keep every page accurate. If you spot an error, an outdated detail, or information about you that you want corrected or removed, email [email protected] with the page link and what needs fixing.
How we handle it:
- We review every correction or removal request within 7 days.
- If something is wrong, we fix it or remove it.
- When we correct a page, we add a note at the bottom with the date of the correction.
- If we decide no change is needed, we reply and explain why.
